HyperPlace

HyperPlace is a web-based distributed virtual world platform where players can easily create and manage their own virtual places, objects and NPCs that constitute a synthetic world with standard web scripts (XML and PHP). Similar to the architecture of HyperText on the web, every HyperPlace is topologically connected to other HyperPlaces and each player-created object distributed over the Internet has its own unique URL. By lowering technical entry barriers to author new content, this platform encourages and facilitates pure joy of 'creative play' rather than following traditional formula of entertainment media in content-consuming mode.
