Parazoan
Parazoan is an exploration of the relationships between participants and a set of soft biomorphic objects. The augmented objects are coupled with digital entities that generate visuals on a table-like display based on how participants manipulate them, creating soft and detailed line drawings when handled with care to bold graphics when manipulated with intensity. The visuals reflect the co-located interaction of participants as they engage, side by side, in a tactual experience with these unusual devices. The installation also records some of the movements of the Parazoans to create traces of past interactions even in the absence of active participants. The installation grabs the attention of people with reactive behaviors, engages them as they discover the functioning of the objects and learn to create detailed visuals, and offers pleasing graphics once the interactive moment is over.
